“Rooted” was created as a sermon series graphic to visually communicate the importance of spiritual depth and stability. The series focused on helping believers strengthen their foundation in Christ by growing deeper in faith and living stronger in purpose. The design needed to be clean, elegant, and symbolic, appealing to a wide church audience while remaining versatile for use on screens, print, and social media.
The central imagery features a flourishing tree with deep, visible roots—symbolizing growth, strength, and stability. I chose this image to reflect the core message of the series: staying grounded in God’s Word to withstand life’s challenges. The word “ROOTED” overlays the tree in bold serif typography, partially intersecting with the foliage, creating a sense of connection between the text and the visual metaphor. The tagline “Grow Deep. Live Strong.” adds a declarative and practical layer, guiding viewers toward the application of the message.
The muted cream background allows the vibrant green of the tree to stand out, representing life and renewal. The gold serif typeface used for the title conveys elegance and importance, while the soft gray tagline offers balance and readability. This classic yet modern approach helps position the series as timeless and accessible to a broad audience. The clean composition ensures that it translates well across different platforms without losing impact.
This design became a memorable visual identity for the series and was praised by the church team for its simplicity and strength. It effectively conveyed the theme in a way that resonated with both in-person attendees and online viewers. For my portfolio, Rooted highlights my ability to craft visuals that combine spiritual symbolism with clean, modern design—delivering a message that is both beautiful and meaningful.
