“Blessed. Broken. Given.” was designed for a sermon series centered on the life of Christ and His model for how we are to live and serve. The series explores the journey of being blessed by God, broken for His purposes, and given to the world as a vessel of His grace. The goal for the design was to create something minimal yet emotionally impactful that could evoke reflection and reverence while maintaining a modern aesthetic.
The design concept draws inspiration from communion imagery—bread as a symbol of Christ’s body blessed, broken, and given. A textured, hand-crafted style was applied to reflect the rawness and humanity of the theme. The title is presented in lowercase typography with intentional spacing and rhythm to echo the sequence of the series focus: blessing, breaking, and giving. This typographic treatment draws the eye down each word slowly, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect.
This sermon series graphic was used across screens, social media, and printed materials and was particularly effective in setting a contemplative tone for worship gatherings. It resonated deeply with the congregation, with many noting how the design itself helped frame the posture of their hearts as they entered into the teaching each week.
For my portfolio, Blessed. Broken. Given. showcases my ability to blend intentional typography and symbolic visuals to create artwork that supports both the message and the mood of a series. Subtle texture overlays were added to prevent the design from feeling too sterile and to reflect the beauty found in imperfection.
